Why Choose Legacy Dental for Dental Sealants?

Your Child’s First Visit

To set your child on the path to lifelong oral health, you should begin at an early age to implement healthy oral habits into their schedule. In addition to daily brushing as soon as their teeth first come in, you can start bringing them into our office for checkups every six months once your child has reached their first birthday. We will gently examine your child to make sure their teeth are decay free and growing in nicely. As they continue to become acclimated to our staff and our office, we will add in dental cleanings to remove any built-up plaque and begin teaching your child healthy oral habits to take care of their smiles.

Fluoride Treatment

One of the best ways to strengthen your teeth against harmful bacteria is to get a fluoride treatment for your child at their checkup and cleaning appointment. This mineral provides extra reinforcement for the enamel, preventing decay. To protect their smile from cavities between checkups, ask us about fluoride treatments for your child.

Dental Sealants

Because they are still learning how to care for their teeth, children are particularly susceptible to tooth decay, especially on the chewing surfaces of their premolars and molars. The good news is that it’s possible to give your child’s smile extra protection against decay with dental sealants. Dental sealants are applied in a liquid form to these surfaces and then are hardened to form a thin plastic coating that blocks bacteria from reaching the enamel. It only takes a few minutes to apply dental sealants, and results can last for as long as 10 years.
