Meet Dr. Judy Kim
For Dr. Kim, the best part of being a dentist is making a positive difference in someone’s life while helping them feel comfortable and cared for. She really values getting to know her patients, listening to their concerns, and creating an environment where they feel heard and supported. Whether she’s providing relief for someone experiencing pain, improving their oral health, or enabling them to feel more confident in their smile, it’s incredibly rewarding to see the difference that can make.
Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Dr. Kim decided to pursue dentistry during her first year of university. She knew she wanted to work in healthcare but was drawn to dentistry because it combines science with art and creativity. She also really liked the idea of being able to use her scientific knowledge while also working with her hands and developing a creative, detail-oriented skill set. The combination of patient care, problem-solving, and the ability to make something tangible is what ultimately led her to the path she still walks today.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Kim graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. Since then, she has continued to build her clinical skills through hands-on experience and advanced education courses so she can offer the latest, most effective care to her patients. She is also an active member of the Saskatchewan Dental Association.
What Do You Like To Do Outside Of Dentistry?
Although her family (consisting of her parents and younger sister) is spread between Canada and South Korea, Dr. Kim says they remain very close and make every effort to stay connected. Away from the office, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family and relaxing with her cats (she is a HUGE cat person). She goes golfing whenever she has the chance and is always looking for ways to stay active and spend time with the people she cares about.
